GED Exam
The GED exam consists of
five sections:

Writing Skills |
 |
Social Skills |
 |
Science |
 |
Interpreting Literature
and the Arts |
 |
Mathematics |
Adults who are 16 years of age
or older who are not enrolled or required to be enrolled in school may be
eligible to take the GED exam. You must be certified as "test ready"
before scheduling an appointment to take the GED exam. Those interested in taking the GED exam
must first contact the Adult Education Enrollment Center at
485-3400.
The initial visit to the
Enrollment Center provides GED candidates with a screening assessment
to establish their current skill level. Some individuals do not require any assistance and are encouraged to take the GED
test. Others may need help in skills upgrade, and
these classes are provided
FREE through the Jefferson County
Public Schools Adult Education Program.
Individuals can enroll in a GED or Reading class close to them
at a time convenient to their schedule. These classes provide adult students
the chance to progress at their own pace.
